This website, specifically
This policy describes the current Leafen marketing website. It does not describe a future app account, uploaded course material, cloud backup, live tutoring, school integration or payment service.
Leafen is operated by Michael Liu, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Michael is responsible for privacy questions and requests; contact privacy@tryleafen.com.
Information involved in a visit
The website has no signup form, account login, payment form, file upload or live AI connection. The displayed worksheet, handwriting and hints are sample content. Changing chapters in the example changes the page in your browser; it does not submit coursework or create a learner profile.
Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical request information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and request times to deliver pages, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. This can include hosting and security logs.
If you email privacy@tryleafen.com or legal@tryleafen.com, we receive your address, message and any information you choose to include. We use that information to respond, handle your request and keep necessary correspondence. Our email service processes messages for delivery and storage.
The current website code includes no advertising pixels, visitor analytics SDKs or session-replay tools. Fonts and images are served with the website rather than requested from a third-party font service.
Use and disclosure
Technical request information is relevant to serving and protecting the website and investigating faults. The current example does not send your interactions to an AI provider, advertising network or analytics service.
Vercel provides website hosting and delivery. Its infrastructure and service providers may process technical information outside Canada, including in the United States, where different laws may apply. Vercel’s privacy notice describes its handling of information. We do not promise Canada-only storage.
We do not sell visitor information or use it for behavioral advertising. We may disclose information when required by applicable law, to respond to a lawful request or to protect the website and people from abuse, limited to what is necessary.
Cookies and browser storage
The production website code does not set cookies or use local storage to save visitor activity. The example’s selected chapter and playback state are held in memory and reset when the page reloads.
Hosting security features may have their own behavior. See the Cookies notice for the current scope and deployment checks. Local development feedback tools are separate from the public website.
Retention and security
There is no website database of accounts, submitted work or demo interactions. Technical logs are retained under the hosting provider’s service and security retention practices. Those periods vary by record type and service; we do not promise immediate removal of provider-held logs or backups.
We retain correspondence only as long as needed to address your request and meet applicable legal, security or recordkeeping obligations. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for those purposes. No system can guarantee absolute security; please avoid including sensitive coursework or unnecessary personal information in email.
Your choices and requests
Depending on the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access, correction or deletion of personal information, object to or restrict certain uses, or complain to a privacy authority. These rights can have legal exceptions.
Send a request or complaint to privacy@tryleafen.com, describing the information or concern involved. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity before releasing or changing records. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any legal limits on what we can provide or delete. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Younger visitors
The website’s example does not ask for a name, age, school or coursework. It does not enroll learners or offer a classroom account.
Before any service collects information from younger learners, its eligible ages, countries and parent or school consent arrangements must be defined. This notice is not permission to enroll children or collect student records.
Changes to this notice
We will update this policy when the website’s information practices change and revise its effective date. Before adding a signup form, optional analytics, payments or uploads, we will describe the new collection and obtain any consent required by applicable law.
